ok i thought i had a 390 but after pulling it aprt i saw in the push rod vally it had 352 stamped does and 31 below it does that mean its a 352? any info is helpfull.

not necessarilly check the stroke if it is 3.50 it is a 352, 360, or 330 if it has a stroke of 3.78 it is 390, 406, or 427

 

If you have it apart look for some ID numbers on the crank (or measure the stroke), and measure the bore if possible. Most FEs have a 352 or 105 on the block, regardless of what displacment they were.

Statistically, you probably have a 360 or a 390.
