I have a 77 F150 4x4, just have 351m rebuilt. The truck never made it out of the shop parking lot... the input shaft in the transfer case bad. The teeth are ground up and where it goes into the tranny is smooth so now i have to find a way to fix this... What do i need and where can i get both the shaft and the part it goes into the tranny??
Some transmission shops may have the proper parts in their "junk boxes", other than that salvage yards are your best bet. Sometimes a regular metal scrap yard will have transmissions that are unrepairable for some reason and may have good parts. A transmission shop may be able to direct you in the right direction.
