I should have rented Blazing Saddles instead of trying to get the two old speed sensors removed. Ended up using a 3 foot crow bar. One came out and one came apart. Trouble is none of the stores I've been to have the exact replacement. Mine has a two foot long wire attached to it before you get to the connector. All the replacements have a connector socket built right into the sensor, thus requiring no new wire. Anybody seen this? Anybody got a model no. for a replacement? (94 expl, 2wd, cruise).
Recommend everyone who ever removes their front rotors polish up the business end of the speed sensor (w/o removing it) while the rotor is off. Mine works off magnatism and collects stray metalica. I think a simple wipe when I did the brake/rotor job would have been enough, but no, I had to do the job "right".
The last time I went to Midas and that will be the last time they installed new disk pads and failed to properly bleed when pushing the caliper back. Well I had irratic faulse ABS response. That was cleared up when I had the brake fluid completly purged and cleaned. Works great now.
