Anyone come across this one? Rear AC Ice cold 44f at 85f outside, front ac 12 to 14 degrees warmer. Checked all that I could, pressures fine, controls seem to be o.k. etc. I've been told that it could be a clogged oriface in the front evap. or a problem with the blend door. Any ideas before I go to the dealer?? Thanks!
My guess is that you are starting to get low on freon. The rear system uses
a different type of control valve that tends to work better then the front
when it is low on charge. I'm basing this on the fact that you say the rear is
at 44 degrees. this is not as cold as i would like to see it with ambient temp at 85. I would have dye put in the system and look for leaks.
My vote goes to the blend door.....Try this....Take a pair of vise grips, wrap your heater hose going into the firewall in a good thick towel and clamp that bad boy off with the visegrips....you dont have to mash it, just enuff to stop the flow of the water to the heater core.....take er for a spin, if your front air is working fine, it's the blend door.....
