Energy Bills

How much does your energy bill average in the summer with the air conditioning running? We're very lucky that our AC unit is very efficent and out bill never goes over $50 in the summer. Some of our friends who live in houses similar to ours and their bill often goes over $100. I suppose we are also lucky and don't have the direct hear like southern places get

My electric bill was $195! I have customers with electric bills of $850.00 a MONTH! I just got a call from a customer that her bill went up $40 dollars??? We are in Miami?? Then she say's it's always cold in her house????? A $50 dollar electric bill would be nice, then I could pay for all the cold BEER I'm drinking with the left over cash.

It is usally around $50 a month. Now with the Air Conditioning running it will be around $75 maybe $100. I haven't gotten a bill yet. I get one every other month.

Our summertime bill is usually lower than the winter bill- $80 or so right now, will about double in January. 'Course, we've flipped the A/C on twice this year so far.

We average about $75.00 per month all year round.

We probably use the A/C maybe..."NEVER"....You see, we're in S.F.

We may turn on the heat in summertime once in a while, though.

My monthly bill in the summertime averages $130. I dont consider that too bad seeing how hot it gets here. In the wintertime, about $80 but the rest is made up in gas from the furnace.

Wow, propane is only 1.29 here. It was about 1.69 a month or 2 ago. Just opened the electric bill, $157. It's usually in the $100 range. Been running the air alot. I hate the humidity here. Hopfully gonna be leaving this state next spring.

About $45-50 average in the summer with all of the central A/C wanted. Gotta love my 1972 central A/C; they'll never make one as tuff and long lasting as that again. Typical summer temps are 85-90F with about a week of 100F.

Colorado is very dry--it takes much less cooling capacity to chill dry air. That same A/C system here in IN would be $150/month at those outside temps. Nonetheless, a 33 year old A/C is quite the accomplishment, but may be living on borrowed time!

Usually electric is around $100/month year round, but this also includes a $22 & a $6 "meter service charge" for the main meter and the off peak meter for the hot water heater. Haven't bought propane in 3-4 months, last time it was $1.58 with a 10%discount for paying the bill in full within 10 days.

We keep the house at 74-75 in the summer and 70-72 in the winter. Our house is also just under 2300 square feet.

I live in central California. My house is 3bdrm 2bath with living room and family room. Its about 1800 sqft. The house is all electric, water heater stove dryer EVERYTHING. My normal bill runs around $300mo and can jump to $700mo with the AC on set at 80.

The dryer is new and an energy star unit. The water heater is pretty new. Don't use the stove, BBQ every night when we are home. The AC unit is about 20 years old. I have changed every bulb in the house to compact flurecents and am pretty good about turning lights off when not needed and still the bills are huge.

BY THE WAY CALIFORNIA SUCKS!!! THANKS GRAY DAVIS!!!

never heard it called an energy bill. I've always refered to it as a light bill or electric bill. I don't pay one for now because I live with my parents. but in a few months I will start having to pay one though. My parents bill runs about $140 normally, but during the winter months, it will go up to about $250+. Summers get really hot here plus it is usualy very humid here so the house central air stays on plus my window AC stays on and it is still usually under $150. Winter months, they seems to jack up the prices due to Christmas lights plus hardly nobody here uses propane, most people have central heating in their houses.
