The connections are spring-lock, which require a special tool to disconnect them. The tool is just a circular plastic or metal piece that clips over the line and slides into the spring-lock to hold it apart. The tool is inexpensive and usually sold as a set of four different sizes to accomodate the various sized connections you will encounter in the Ford A/C system. Some of the connections can be buggers to get apart, even with the tool, while others just pop apart easily. Spraying the connection with WD-40 often makes it easier to remove. Don't start with a hard to get to connection for your first attempt. Since you system is down already, pick an easily accessible connection and practice on that a few times to get the "feel" of these connectors. You will also need to pick up some new replacement o-rings. Using the old ones will likely lead to future leak problems. A Haynes or Chiltons repair manual has some good illustrations and information on these connectors but nothing beats hands on practice. Good luck!
I hope you don't have duel AC. The hoses are unavalible. I went to Ford to get a new one. It was listed a 600$ Cdn, and there is only one left, its in BC, Cdn. I have to make one.
There are companies that make up and repair most hoses. There are seven in the salt lake city area. I would imagine that you can find them in the hydraulic section. If you are having difficulty, ask the hydraulic shops where they get their hoses.
