I just bought a used ford excursion 2000. After starting it up yesterday, it immediately died on me. It starts every time, but won't idle. What could be the problem?
The Air Control value on the 6.8L engines get dirty and stick.
Mounted in the top/back of engine. Remove simply with small bolts.
Usually can clean by spraying with carb or brake cleaner. Known problem because Ford dealers usually have plenty of new ones in stock.
Once cleaned, pop back in and the V-10 will idle like a charm.

Not hard to find, just hard to reach.
Need to climb on the bumper to reach the top/back of motor.
