No problem, you can use 30W in any warm climate. Should help oil pressure on an Autumn engine.
Did you determine the cause of your previous engine flame out problem ????
Well, I thought I had the flameout problem solved, I had the pickup coil/stator replaced about two weeks ago, but today it stalled on me for a moment, till I pulled over. When I tried to restart, it fired right back up. Not sure what happened, will see it it recurs. Any suggestions on what to check next if I get a stall or no run condition again?
Check for a spark at the plug wires. If you have a good spark but no fire, check the computer ground wire. It is potted into the battery negative cable through a connector. Can't miss it, it is the small wire that goes into the battery cable lug. That was my problem when I had the exact same symptoms on my 88 Bronco.
That was my thought also, I was thinking about replacing my plugs and wires..Not sure when the last plug change was. I'm gonna remove a plug and look at it. Do you think replacing the spark plug wires is a good idea? I was just thinking about taking it to a shop for a tuneup...no idea if the truck ever had one done.
You should have two small wires clenched into the negative battery lug along with the heavy cable that attaches to the engine in the viscinity of the starter. Follow these two wires for about a foot or less and right before they go into the radiator support there should be a two prong connector. Even if it looks good, disconnect and investigate. Incidentally, one wire is the computer ground and the other is ground for the ABS. Typically, the thin brass female portion of the connector tends to erode and break down intermittently.
