Ordering a 2006 - Question

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to order a 2006 F-350 Super Duty, PSD. I'm not a big fan of the plastic cab steps that come standard on the Lariat, nor do I care for the chrome steps that you can up grade to. In 2005, and 2006, they put a really cheesy chrome cab step in for the upgrade. NOW...with all that said, I REALLY like the 5" tubular cab step you can get with the Chrome Package. However, I don't want to spend the $700 for the Chrome Package. All you get is little chrome caps on the mirrors, chrome tow hooks, a PLASTIC "billet style" grill, a chrome exhaust tip, and of course the COOL 5" tubular cab steps. Does anyone know if I can get the factory to put on the 5" steps WITHOUT ordering the Chrome Pkg?? I'll pay a little extra, just don't want all the other garbage that comes with the pkg. Thanks...

Unfortunately, choice "C" isn't one of the available answers. Whatever you do sounds like it'll be aftermarket- or bite the bullet and get the chrome package.

what ever happened to the options a customer could chose. back in the 70's you didn't have to buy packages you could check the box on the sheet what you wanted. you didn't need a special package to get the one item you wanted . why is it so hard just to add the steps.

See if you can just order them from the parts department. I don't see why they couldn't do it, they could if you dam, aged them or needed them replaced.

I would just spend the money on aftermarket ones. You can get a lot nicer for what you'll pay.

Thanks guys...I guess I'll go aftermarket. I'll check with parts to see if they can order as well. Stinks you can't just order what you want.
