You can get the front end only lift for about $150 or the front/rear for about $250. The best price I've found is $237 from www, rockymountainsusp, com. Suspose to be an easy install, 2-4 hrs depending on whether you do the front or front/rear.
I'll be doing one before the end of the year when it's time to replace my tires. I'm gonna make this 4x4 look like a 4x4. If anybody finds a better price than that, post it, I'd appreciate it.
For those interested, thru July 4th, you can get the kit at 4-Wheel Parts Wholesalers for $218, plus free shipping. The front only kit is also available at a discounted price.
Cool, thanks! Now for the even sillier question... How do I know if I have Air-Ride Suspension or not? I bought it used and they didn't know jack about the vehicle. It's an XLT but there are no buttons or switches that I've come across that would indicate anything like this. But I do remember my '96 Exploder had a shraeder valve near the trailer hitch that raised the rear suspension up for towing or hauling.
Look at your suspension for coil springs and nothing else. I don't know if the air ride has a spring and air cylinder or just an air cylinder, but there will be an air cylinder. Other than that, I don't know how to tell the difference.
Fellas, I've got a 04 Expd Eddie 5.4ltr. I installed the Daystar 2" coil spacers all the way around!!! Looks and rides great. Might even wash the truck and post a photo for ya. I also went to a 285/70/ 17 Toyo ATs Total height gained was 4"s.
Now the install was a chore... I had two competant buddies assisting and it took us roughly 8 hours with Air tools. Make sure you have a realy good set of spring clamps!. The front end is the most difficult. The rear takes some extra large sockets I think it was 1 1/16 for the rear main bolt, if I remember right (was a year ago). Haven't had any problems at all!
