If money is tight, why not buy a set of used springs from a junkyard and just add a leaf or two to your pack? On a sagging truck, it is the top 1-3 springs that make a difference, so either replace them or add more. I think reARCing the spring with the eyes is a poor thing to do since it will be more likely to break in the future.
Its not because they are sagging now. My current factory leaves have 0 sag. I just want more lift. Therefore, theres no point in getting J-yard leaves unless they are 56" long and hav more arch to them than mine do now.
Oh come on now, were not all dumbazz's. I have a 84 b2 my pride and joy, a 70 F100 donor, a 04 chevy 4x4 daily driver, a 78 chev C65, a 89 mits galant, a 80 LUV, a 89 and a 95 caravan, 03 Jeep liberty, a 75 chev motorhome, not to mention my 8n Ford tractor and a massey ferg. with a loader bucket. Well the last two are my fathers but he lives right in front of me and I am the only one who uses them, he has a 94 F150 and mom drives a 02 0r 03 Envoy. I have a bunch of crap, but that bronco2 sure is sweet. And dear god don't ride in that chevy with the torched springs, thats azznine. If they don't break on the first trip around the block, they will within a week or so, they won't flex right, just break. Thats horrible.
He could have at least not heated them and used like a pipe bender and like took the rollers out and placed a piece of pipe there and then tried to rearch them with something like that if he had to do it himself. The heat oh the heat. He probably poured water on them too to help them cool off. You can do them yourself with some trial and error with the way I said above, but it takes a lot of time, I have done it once, but its a pain, took the pack apart and did one at a time. Don't think I'd do it again though, heck, he could have just took the tire off and put a hi lift in there and cranked the crap out of them, and that would be better than what he did. Please make him test it out in the parking lot first so it will break before he gets on the street and hurts somebodys family. After its heated like that it will NOT HOLD.... Better yet just hit them real hard with a sledge and watch them shatter like glass, then call him stupid. Or torch them in two yourself. I'll shut up now, I just think of everyone else on the road, when they let go...
Nice tangent... I understand how you get one one and cant get off... Didnt really find any coherency in the first 5-7 lines... Makes sense, but one idea isnt relevant to the next thought... Its aight, I do it too, like now
