Car surges when first started
My wife's 99-Exp 4wd - 5.4l has done this from day one and I'm trying to figure out if it is a problem.
As soon as you start the car, the car will tend to move a little forward...just enough to notice and make me wonder.

I had the same problem with my ford explorer, got worse over time. The final months it lasted it would take a few revs of the engine to get it into gear. Finally the tranny completed failed. I did change the tranny fluid, flush but that made it worse. Hope yours is not going down the same path.
