I've got a 99 F-250 with 70k miles. Just bought the truck a couple of months ago. I've noticed that, with A/C running, it tends to ping a little under acceleration. I've added a Superchips 1715 programmer, and am currently running the perf tune (top one). Yesterday, the SES light came on, and has stayed on. I mention the pinging in case they may be related. Since I've put on the programmer, I've always run 91 octane, and am currently (Chevron).
Any ideas? Is there a way to pull codes with the programmer? I was thinking about going back to the 87 octane program- I wonder if that would clear the light???
I'm new to V-10 ownership, and suppose they, like every make/model, have their own set of quirks. Is there an 02 sensor or something that likes to act up that I should look for?

Change to a higher octane (92 or better) fuel if at all possible, and if that's not an option switch brands. Amoco and Mobile are recommended by Diablo Sport, and work well with Superchips as well. The fuel quality you're using is causing the ping.

I hate saying this but.... You haven't read the 1715's manual, have you? Its a programmer and code reader --- detailed in the manual. When all else fails, read the instructions. You'll be able to find out what code the is setting the SES light, and if its related to the programmer (not likely). Ignore any P0603 code, that code is simply set because it has an aftermarket tune.
I skimmed through the manual, (before posting this) but didn't see anything. I'll take a closer look at it. Thanks for the tip. I have a hard time reading technical mumbo-jumbo just for kicks. I'm usually the bozo that goes straight to the install directions, loads it, and throws everything back in the box...
I believe the EGR line going to the intake gets clogged with carbon.
NOTE: That pinging is usually the EGR not functioning at full capacity, so this perfectly jives with the code you got.
Second note: I've used Amoco, and noticed a power DROP OFF at 87 octane. I use a local Gulf station (much cheaper), and get more power, even when both are 10% ethanol. No difference in "stuff" in the fuel filter, nothing but a few extra ft/lbs. I'm not recommending Gulf, just don't believe all the "use this brand, it's better" stuff. Remember, all gasoline is "common carrier" - it's all basically the same stuff, just the individual sellers add their own additive package. Sometimes that makes a difference, sometimes not - I suspect Amoco's "superior" detergents take a little power away.
