I just traded in my 99 SD gasser for an 05 6.0 PSD. I have always run Dura Lube engine oil additive in my gas motors with good results. What is the best additive (Slick50, Dura Lube, Z Max, etc.) for the 6.0 PSD?
I'll give it a try. Next time I'm at Wal mart I'll see if they carry it. I'll see if they have a oil filter also. They do have the air filter, $70 ouch!!

I was @ Wally world last night and they didn't have any 04/05 PSD filters (oil/air) listed in their reference computer. It may be our store location that doesn't carry PSD filters, but that's a good thing; the only filters they have to offer is Fram.
Not to change the subject, but the other day I saw a F-250 diesel, not sure if it was a 6.0 or 7.3 but on the back window he had a big "Amsoil Dealer" sticker and then under that it read "this truck never needs oil changes". What's up with that? Being around motocross I know of Amsoil and the claims that you can run their 2-stoke mix at something like 100:1 compared with normal oil ratios of 40:1. But an engine that never needs oil changes?
A bypass oil filter system will greatly extend your engine oil life and time between changes, but not to the point that it never needs to be changed.

Do a search for Fram Oil filters and you'll see numerous posts about them. They are the exact same filter (6.0 PSD) as what you will get from Ford or a number of other companies. They're all made by Racor with the same stamping of part and patent #'s, but have different outside packaging and labels. That's the only diffenece (besides the price).
Why some of you guys still spend double and triple the cost of filters because its easier to buy at a local store when a few clicks on line can save alot of loot is beyond me.
Your already on the internet so save yourself some $$.
The price of fuel is going up in case you haven't noticed.
You can still buy 1 at a time and save some $$$
For ex: before i knew i paid $70 for fuel filter when oilguard.com has them for $35.
AIr filter at a Speedy oil change qouted me at $140 installed.
I buy from oilguard for $50 and install myself in 10 minutes.
Buying more filters at 1 time gets you better savings and sometimes free shipping plus no sales tax so there is no reason to buy at autopart store, walmart or Ford-IH dealer unless you have $$ to waste.
I don't.
There is now 2 sponsors of this site that have smokin deals on filters.
Oilguard and fleetfilter.(this last one post here as fleetfilterbrian)
