You said 'HI' but you didn't introduce yourself or your truck. Are you going to?
Hello, As my screen name indicates I too am am ticked off at FoMoCo for giving me the run around with the transmission problems with my 2004 Eddie Bauer Explorer. After doing the 04B22 recall and then four more times back to the servicing dealer, violent engagements when touching accelerator after shifting from drive to reverse or reverse to drive; the vehicle is stationary before moving shift selector and engine at idle. I have filed a complaint with the National Highway Safety Administration Office of Defects Investigation, as others have, and am looking into other formal proceedings to make FoMoCo live up to their responsibilities. FoMoCo rep has advised me verbally that that one of their engineers who has never been in the vehicle has declared the transmission operation is normal, therefore, they will not do any more to the transmission, I requested they put it in writing, they refused. Incidentally, the Explorer only has 11,200 miles on it and the driveline is developing excessive backlash ( I wonder why?) The only thing consistent about the transmission operation is the inconcistency. The servicing dealers states that they have done exactly what FoMoCo has directed. Ten minutes after leaving the shop after the last visit the transmission was just as bad as before it went into the shop.
There is more, but enough for now.
Catch you all later,
Tickedoff2
