Ok what i got is a small problem. I'm replacing alot of the working parts on my distributor. But how the hell do i remove the (Ignition Reluctor) I'ts the small gear on top. NOT the bottom gear
If it's a Duraspark, look closely around the gear shaft and you will see that it's held in place by a roll pin that runs paralel to the shaft. You need a small 2 jaw puller. If you do it, replacing the roll pin is a real pain. Much easier to go new
A battery cable puller will do the trick. I usually just use two small screwdrivers, be patient and take your time. be sure not to drop the roll pin down in the distributor if it is still in the engine. The stator is usually around $20, the reluctor is around $3 if you break it. Thats a bit cheaper than the $50 distributor.
Or you can take it to a mechanic and have him change it for about $150. After he changes the ignition coil, module, starter, relay and battery trying to find the problem
(Sorry in advance to any real mechanics reading this )
Say I'm getting ready to dump my transmission pan and replace the filter and gasket. Along with that I'm replacing the thermostat and gasket. My two part question is. 1. How much F-type fluid will i need 4,5,6? quarts. 2. I have no idea what thermostat was in this truck should i run with a 180 degree or 190-195 degree stat?
