Strange you should ask. I purchased a MM Pro - the solar powered model in 6/04 and am currently on my third warranty replacement unit. The first two only ran for 2-3 weeks before suffering solar/battery ailments that left the battery unable to be recharged. The third unit I received last week and it too, has problems already. It will not run on anything but a full tank of propane and then, only 12-15 hours before shutting down. In the approximately 6 weeks of total operation the mosquito catch was neglible - not even enough to cover the bottom of the small net. I emailed the company this afternoon requesting a return for credit. These things are good in theory but poor in practice. They are far too tempermental and expensive for me to recommend to anyone.
I can't say I've actually seen one used, but there's one sitting in one of our barns here at work collecting dust, so I'd guess it's not too impressive or it'd probably still be in use.
OK, know that I started this, I'll add my experience.
I bought three (yea, three), Liberty Plus models (w/battery, charged from the propane) middle of last summer.
When these things work - they work (at least in my case). Within several days of installing the first one (granted the mosquito population near the thing would rival a metropolis), there was easily several thousand of the suckers in the net - thought the darn thing would fly away. Within 4-6 weeks, as advertised, the population was severely reduced and I had my back yard back! [I have several acres that are used, hence the multiple units.]
One stopped working within months - brand new replacement unit shipped right away, shipping paid both ways - cool!. However, another is boxed ready to go back, the 3rd hasn't started for > 1wk and I'm calling tomorrow to return that one (they 'changed' their policy, now you get a refurb, with a supposed 'new engine', shipped after you send yours back - still free shipping though).
Tech support is virtually useless (though very courtious) - spend your time and money, did you check this or that, etc (and those 'Quick Clear Cartridges' they are so quick to recommend, and why not - three small CO2 cartridges for $10!!! - 'Quickly Clears Cash' would be more appropriate). No technical data/support is given, no service parts are sold 'to the public'. You're up the creek without a toothpick.
Once out of warranty (an apparently reasonable 1 yr), its $149 to replace with a refurb from their one 'authorized repair center' or $199 from MM direct - wish I had known this was a loaner program with steep yearly fees!
Since I'm not expecting a satisfactory result with mine (hope I'm wrong) the legal option would be next. If anyone's interested, a Class Action would receive a whole lot more attention. [And when I'm 'on to somethin' I haven't lost yet!]
[Sorry for the rant, but I figure there are many others with the same issues. There is strength in numbers.]
