Ide like to hear only from people who have had a minimum of 2 of the above mentioned brands of shockes on their excursion. Im debating on what to put on mine and want to know personal experiences. I want a smoooth ride like i had in my Chevy suburban, but want it to handle well while towing my 8900 # trailer. thanks in advance.
I can only give my opinion about the Bilsteins, as my Ex is currently running on them. I put them in when I had the lift installed. Definately an improvement over the stock ride quality.
I really like the great handeling (especially cornering)! Even with the lift, it seems like the Ex is glued to the road.
I have the elderbrock extended travel on my X that is lifted and it rides better than any truck I have owned the ride is better than when it was stock. They are a great shock
I had the eldebrock on a Suburban and have the Rancho's on my X. I doubt that you will find anyone that has had two of the three on the same vehicle. The eldebrocks were better than stock, but don't compare to the Rancho's. I have heard great things about the Bilsteins.
Pat
Bilsteins have a lifetime warrantee and are rebuildable. German made precision shocks. Don't know about Ranchos but the Bilsteins on all 4 corners of my 4x4 street driver X made a noticeable difference.
But the LANDYOT radius rods just installed this wknd, make it handle like a sports car. As much as an 8000# vehicle can handle like a sports car.
Helwig sway bar also made big diff in handling and cornering.
