Ok I have 38" dick cepek fun country kevlars. About a week ago I noticed a bulge were the sidewall meet the tread. I know it wasn't a defect cause I have no power steering and I curb check at least one of the tires every time I pull into my driveway. So I do the smart thing and stop driving it until the new tire shows up. Well I have a tire that is no longer being made it seems so I have a little wait until it gets here. I had to drive it today to the dentist and no sooner had I pulled out of their parking lot I here a hiss. I didn't even have to look around I knew what it was and who was doing it. The tire had 1/2" gap between the tread and sidewall for a good 16" around the tire and right in the midle was a 1/4" gap about 2" long running from tread to rim. It looked like a child carved a "T" into my tire before it went flat. I'm glad I was only doing 25 when it went. I'm also glad it wasn't a 49" Irok. I know Cody had tire pressure loss due to rim failure but he was on the freeway with 49's when it happened. I can only imagine how he felt.
Yeah man. It sucks to have something break or go bad that is no longer in production!!! It seems to me that someone somewhere has to have what you need, but I wish you luck in finding a replacement. Hey, I've got 3 WELD Stonecrushers in 17x12...........can't find a 4th in the country.
Not to hijack hatemaking's thread........but, hey Cody, still got your truck? What's going on?
Ernie
Yep, I still got it. I called Stockton wheel last Tuesday and they said that I should see them within the next two weeks. Then, once I convince Tire-Rama that they need to mount the 49's on the new wheels for me, I'm putting the jalopy on eBay.
I've been driving it a lot lately (on the 44's), probably because I'm going to miss it. That and it's the only vehicle I've got with an audible stereo in it.
