Shifter question
I bought a Haynes/Chilton, and did not find a break down,
We pulled the transmission this weekend ( 88 ranger, 5 speed, 4 cyl) when I removed the shifter from the tranny, ( 3 screws and the housing top) there looked to be some kind of plastic in pieces around the shifter ball.
is there something that goes in there in addition to the spring washer, and washers?
