How much of an increase in sound is there on this? I have an excursion and do alot of traveling and its my wifes daily driver. she has already told me if it becomes loud she will stop driving it and sell it from under me. so I need to keep it quiet but exhail better. I have the stage II AFE instake system already.
It will be louder than stock but not by much except when you have your foot in it or towing. I didn't see if you have a 7.3 or a 6.0, the 6.0 will get a little more turbo whistle too!

First system - will ramain nameless - rusted out. Alot of $ and pain in the butt to install two times. If you buy - buy stainless - but it still won't be as good as your stock system. If I'd left it all alone it would still be there, be better than what I have and I wouldn't have wasted $800 plus my own labor.
Also - a few added horses in an 8,000# truck really doesn't get you much.
Same things for air filter systems. Had one and put the stock one back on - do use better filters though and did do the Zoodad mod - I believe that does help. Not with power, but cooler air is better than hot air for any engine.
I bet I can even name the brand you had, we get calls on that brand all the time! Now on a gas engine changing the exhgaust will be MINIMAL at best, on a diesel it's a change the average owner can feel in the SOTP (seat of the ponts) dyno. Plus if you have gauges you'll see lower EGT's and a quicker spool up on the turbo too. We have a lot of customers claim better MPG too!
