Some Random Thoughts...

I suddenly find myself in a weird space, and feel the need to talk about it.

Like many of you, I was floored by Dennis' announcement that he's having to resign his duties as an administrator here on FTE. I have been here slightly over a year, and this site, and the people I have come to know here have become very important to me, Dennis among them. That announcement, plus a thread about why we post here, have got me to doing some thinking (an admittedly rare occurance!)

When I first stumbled across FTE, I was just coming out of the single worst experience of my life and trying to find some some way to make sense of my existence on this planet. Through it all I have tried to remain positive, but at times the demons are stronger than I and the depression takes control of me once again, probably observable by the change in tone of some of my posts at these times.

That's all I'm gonna say on that subject.

However, this site and all the wonderful people on it (that doesn't mean you are all wonderful, I'm just talking about those of you who are! ) have helped me to keep my mind on other matters through most of the bad times. For this, I thank you all.

Now, a major change is in the offing...indeed, it has already occurred. Just look at any post by Mil1ion, it no longer says 'Administrator' there, merely 'Post Fiend'. Dennis, you have been an influential force in the growth of FTE, and most certainly a fixture here in the last year that I have been onboard, I just can't imagine this site without you and your wisdom, not to mention your calming influence when the pot begins to boil. Thank you for all your hard work here. You will be missed.

I know that this site and the people here will still help to make it the best automotive site on the Internet, but I can't help the feeling of loss that I'm experiencing. I hope that all goes well for you and Michelle and that you cherish every moment you have to spend together, my best wishes go out to you both.

good, very good.

Isn't it amazing, that even though 90% of us have never met each other, that we have grown to know each other so well, that we have began to really rely on this site for advice and guidance. Obviously certain members stick out...

Just thought it was neat.

Hey Tiger Dan, maybe the pot is meant to boil in order to appreciate it even more.

This site is a good extension of ourselfs and our lives, both on and off the FTE forum.

We post here not just for automotive but for the family atmosphere.

And are there differences of opinions? You bet.

Makes it exiting, doesn't it?

Makes you wonder why and how the others think.

Definitely enjoyable, at least for me.
