Exclamation fuel delievery problem

I have a 96 f-150 4x4 5.0L 302: yesterday my truck sputtered a few times then when i cut it off it wouldn't start back up so i had it hauled home. This morning i took off the bed and checked to see whether or not it was getting power to the pump, it wasn't so i decided to check the fuses which my brother said he checked yesterday and was fine, well there was a blown fuse so i replaced it now it starts, i started the truck then pulled the fuse and it didn't shut off so i left the fuse out shut the truck off left it a few minutes then tried to start it again, it started without the fuse so i guess that means it wasn't the fuse, so i don't know what the problem was but i was wondering if anyone else might know because i would hate to get somewhere and have this happen to me again. any help i would appreciate.

fuel pump relay or the related. check the relay, the wire underneath, for corrosion or broken wires.

thanks alot chrono4; my check engine light has been on for a year now; i pulled all the fuses that said fuel and cleaned them none were shot and i pulled the fuel pump relay, it looked very clean so i did nothing to it just put it back in, now when i turn my ign. on the c.e. light comes on then when i crank it it goes off and stays off, i don't know for a fact i fixed the problem i was working on but this makes me very happy, thanks again
