Gas Hog!

Gas Hog!
My truck is a real gas hog, is getting thirstier and is pretty weak. Besides tune up, any suggestions short of major rebuild or bigger motor swap (I'm on a pretty tight budget)? Thanks in advance.

First off, I would suggest going to fordfuelinjection.com and follow the procedures there for KOEO and KOER tests (Key On, Engine Off/Running). Post back with any results and some of us may be able to help steer you in the right direction.

What is your truck? What year, model, engine, trans, rear end? What size tires? How many miles, when was the last time it had a FULL service tune up, oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, plugs, wires, o2 sensor(s), cap, rotor, tranny fluid flush, and filter change? These things all can contribute to poor fuel mileage.
