I have a 1995 F150 4x4 4.9L 6 cyl. When I try to start it, it turns over just fine. It just wont fire. When it finally decides to fire, it starts right up and runs like a champ. It finally left me stranded at work today. The battery and starter are less than two months old. The fuel pump and filter are about two years old.
I dont think it is an injector issue because it run smoothly when it finally starts. There is spark at all six spark plugs. I have not tested compression, but have no reason to be suspect.
If you can help at all, it would be greatly appreciated
try your fuel pump relay. if it sticks youll get no fuel and no boom. when you first turn the key you should here the pumps run for about 2 secs. also check all the wiring under the relay as they tend to corode. by the way, welcome to fte, youll find a wealth of info here, i know i have.
