Thanks! And I have to thank Dude_Zilla for bringing this back up Its. . .reinspiring me to get busy on the truck again. . .poor baby has just been sitting for a couple months now. I keep dragging my feet on building the front end
Yes, a pair of T4 Garretts. Above is the passenger side; Tomorrow I start the driver's side, which I wanted to do second because it needs to be a lot tighter because the steering box is "right there", thus more complicated.
What engine? What all mods does this require? I mean as far as engine management. Sounds like a cool project. I have toyed with building a setup for my 300, but read that it gains only marginal power because of the rpm range the 300 is designed for. Still, my ricer brother-in-law wants to do it. He believes in turbos.
Where did you here that teds? BigBlockCapri in the I6 forum has a turbo 300 making powerstroke like numbers off of it. It's all torque baby, yeah Iwas thinking a turbo 300 for my '78 might be fun and unigue, seeing how everyone and frederic has a 460. . .
I can't remember. It seems odd to me since every other engine on the planet benefits from only 6 or 7 psi. I was thinking of only running that, and a turbo that spooled by 1600 rpm or so. I like to stop flogging my 300 at 3K. It just doesn't sound healthy after that

The manifold you see is one of two - the passenger side. They are for a low compression (7.6:1) 500cid stroker I'm building for my crewcab. I don't intend to turn any rpms either.... 4000 redline. By sizing the turbos for 500cid, 800-4000 rpm the way I did, assuming my math is right I'll have boost forming at about 1000 RPM and by 4000RPM the engine should see 23-24lbs of pressure.
I've changed my mind a few times for engine management. Originally, GM stuff which I'm more familar with, but then I went to 89-93 mass air mustang stuff, then changed again to 1996 mass air F150 EFI because it's OBD-II and I can easily attach that to the linux PC that I've embedded into the dashboard.
Parts are parts!
And the 300 can make serious torque with a turbo. You might want to scroll down (or up?) the list of FTE forums, and join the supercharger, turbocharger and nitrious forum. Several guys have made wild I300's with turbos.
This is a repeat project for me actually. 5-6 years ago I completed a 1975 Dodge extended cab (D200) with a 451 stroker, also with two turbos, which I converted to EFI using GM stuff. While it was a junkyard project all the way, and my c/r was a bit higher than I'd have liked (9.1:1), and I never got EFI tuning to "optimal" before I sold the truck, I still managed to smoke tires at any speed in any gear, and when not careful, litter the highway with shards of parts that usually should be behind the flywheel.
So in theory, I've figured out all the mistakes and planned this twin-turbo pickup a little better.
i'm currently in the middle of doing the same thing to my 78. got a quote from the sandblaster for 150 bucks, baught some used rustfree mounts to replace my old rotted ones and after getting done with altering my lift it will goto the sandblaster and then to the rhino linings shop to be ziebarted.....
Frame looks beautiful. Real nice work. Keep us informed as the project progreses.
My thoughts EXACTLY!
You make me want to do my truck RIGHT NOW!
even thought it is 1:30am.
I love doing Moster Garage stuff real late! I tend to work really good when I get into it!
anyways, good luck with the project dear sir.
KEEP US INFORMED!
