I run mine in level three but it doesn't seem to matter what level if I am just cruising around normal. My EGT's are at about 500 at that speed. Sometimes a little more but that is about it. Seems that might be just about right for a dualy.

There are a lot of things that can contribute to EGT's...outside temperature being one of them. I don't have a dually, but cruising empty in the hot Texas summer..thats about what I see...and I am stock turning 39.5's with 4.56 gears.

EGT Too High ??

My truck has 25000 miles, Back in Jan I was going down the highway on cruise control at 75 miles per hour. Outside temp approx 3degrees, shut off cruise control to decelerate and truck starts bucking and pucking black and blue smoke,no power at all. EGT temps back then running around 550-650. Shut truck off restarted ran fine and back to normal except Egts now 800-950.I have taken the truck to ford they replaced egr, tested turbo, wire problems ect. I also took the 6 gun and speed loader off and sent to banks for testing everything ok.
