drop axle problem

i just got my drop axle installed with new king pins and everything. i went to put it all back together and now the steering arm (horseshoe) that attaches to the drag link hits on my shock. have any of you had this problem? i just heated up my shock mount and leaned it out and it clears now i just never heard of this. thanks wade

Have you checked your tie rod ends, or your drag link yet? they are likely to be effected also. You have changed a major component of the steering geometry, and adjustments need to be made.

Had the same problem with my axle. Did the same thing with the shock mount

If your truck is the same as my 1950 F3 the shock mount is not the cause of your problem. Does your draglink point up instead of parallel to the truck? I can't remember the name off the top of my head but the part the draglink mounts too in the front needs to be heated up and moved down. Then the shock will fit correctly and you will be able to turn the steering wheel in both directions without the draglink running into the shock.
