My son just bought a set of ProComp Shock absorbers with reservoirs at $110 each for his 02 PSD. He said they will smooth out the ride, but he will not be able to put them on for a few weeks. I would like to smooth out the ride on my '99 PSD before a trip scheduled for the 4th, but I do not want to spend $450 if they really do not "smooth" out the ride. Any opinions? I have a '99 F250 PSD lifted 4" with F350 springs on 35s.
Thanks!

From my experience, and I've done Gabriel Max Controls, Edelbrocks, Rancho RS9000X(currently on the rear) and Bilsteins (currently on the front). The best quality shock for these trucks are hands down the Bilsteins.
Just my $.02 though. If you don't have a custom suspension with lots of travel and do a lot of off roading, reservoir shocks would be all show, and a waste fo $$$.
I agree, Bilstein makes the best monotube shock out there hands down. You dont need a reservoir shock unless you're offroading in very rough terrain going fast.
