just realized the 87 150 I just bought has the PRNDD1, which I'm gathering is a overdrive tranny, the doorjam tag says T for the trans code, never had one so I'm clueless about them, wheres 2nd gear? should I drive around in overdrive or use the first D? I can't really feel it shift 4 times when in overdrive, if theres no second gear setting how do you use the trans to slow you down on a steep grade?. whats the pro's or con's of theses transmissions, thanks in advance
yeh I see it doesn't have a trans cooler I'll install one, I read you should change trans fluid quite often on theses AOD's do you know anything about that, and something about ford has a TV cable boot replacement kit that should be installed, and it is real critical that the TV cable is adjusted properly??? I just don't want the tranny to fail cause of something I neglected. thanks for your input
yup change the fluid and filter. the convertor has a drain plug too.
If the TV pressure is off in these transmissions they won't last very long.
The critical area is on top of the engine. Where the linkages connect.
