393 stroker

Hey ive posted a few times on what to do about my 92 351w a few and thanks. I was wondering if i stroked it to 393...used the compcams speed density friendly cam, edelbrock heads and intake combo....would all that work togeather and still run under the Stock computer?

no, it would require a custom cam made by cammotion and you still may have issues. if you upgraded to a lightning ecu and then used a tweecer to tune that computer you may get it to work properly. This would be a great question to ask over at the lightning forum.

Yea I thought about that. Im just looking for ways to add power to the motor Im knew to the ECU stuff other than my 88 5.0 stang. It doesnt seem anything is the same on the 351w though. I know that the heads and intake system combined with the bumped up CR of 9:1 will make nice power over stock, but i figured a cam would be a nice improvement. So are you saying that if i do the compcam I will definately need the lightning ecu? Or is that just going to make it easier.

with that cam you wont need the lightning ecu. the lightning ecu just has a few different settings compared to a stock 351w speeddensity ecu.

read what you can at www.fordfuelinjection.com it should help bridge the efi gap for you a bit.

Right on I dont want to be way over board I just want it to be a solid ride that can get out of its own way. Id rather drop the big $$$$ on my 68 f-100.
