I have measured, and before he had posted about the bolt offset, I found the measurements to be wrong. The 70's springs do have the center bolt from the front eye different. the springs I have are still attached, but available. I do have concerns with not having the center bolt in place, because it is generally used to keep the axle set, not allowing dogtracking and such. My concern was more that the springs will sit offset, and not work properly because of that. I have not checked to see if the springs could be reversed and have the same distance or not.

Now that sounds like something I should have done. I checked the eye to eye distance, but never gave the center bolt much thought. If you do find that they could be reversed, let me know and I'll swap mine out.

I had measured that distance, but I didn't get it posted in time to let you know it, and not that I am an expert to argue with you anyway... but I remeasured, and there is no way to accidentally install backwards, it would be so far off it would be obvious. The front on my 86 measures center of eye to center bolt 25", and from the rear was over 29", I didn't bother with exact as it was obvious to not be anywhere close...
