Head Gaskets Or Bolt Pattern

Just wondering what the consensus was on the head gasket issue. Is the issue more from the head gasket or the bolt pattern. Currently, I am having my head gasket replaced and am wondering if the problem is solved or if it will come up again. If the issue is the material the gasket was made of, then I would think the problem is solved......but if it is the bolt pattern, then I may very well run into the issue again (along with most other 6.0 owners).

And would bigger down pipe help keep the pressure down inside the motor or would it not make a difference that far up the line. And what about the banks intercooler....would keeping the engine cooler help with this?

What was the original problem that made you get your head gaskets replaced.
