ok i have been told that the york compressor pumps require you to fill them with oil in the the fill plug is this true, if so what kind of oilin a york system do you run oil in the lines too like other setups i am really confused. i will be using it with r134a so i was told to use pag 100 oil.
I am not terribly versed on the older A/C systems, but if I recall there were two styles of York compressors, one that had an internal oil resovoir in what amounted to a crankcase (these are very saught after as many folks like to turn them into onboard air compressors), and the newer more commonly used style that just relied on oil carried by refrigerant. But as with any vehicle I would charge to factory spec on the oil charge (85% of factory refrigerant charge when going to R-134a), and load the oil where specified in the shop manual. That may help answer some of your question, or just add to the confusion
