crazy odometer backlight!

I own a 99 f-150, and recently my odometer backlight does not want to work, all i do is tap the plastic cover over the speedo, and it will turn on, and just now i was driving it went out and i tapped it and it came back on, please any info is appreciated i have 4 more years of payments!!!

Mine has been doing the same thing. I took it into the dealer to have it fixed with some other problems under warranty-they said something about a cluster, if they fix it i'll let you know what it was.

UGH. Apparently its not covered under warranty along with my emergency brake that doesn't work, the mirrors that occasionally don't go to the right, oh the seal they replaced -again- WAS covered. Yippie, i paid 1500 or so for this damn warranty and it doesn't cover anything, except a little seal on the tranny that they couldn't fix right the first time.

THEY WANT 500 DOLLARS FOR A CLUSTER! I JUST BOUGHT THE TRUCK LESS THAN THREE MONTHS AGO AND CRAP IS BRAKING! ARGHHH

sorry about that. Guess its time to brake out the soldering tools.
