'96 Bronco Questions
The Bronco is not "Shift on the Fly" engagement (you have to stop), but the hubs are Auto Locking so you don't have to get out to engage them. I took my Auto's off and put Warner Premium manual hubs on for the ability to use 4L and keep the front hubs free spinning on the pavement around the boat ramps. The Bronco is tow rated for 7000 lbs. But I wouldn't tow more than 3-4,000 lbs loads max because of the brakes. If your trailer has good brakes then knock yourself out, the 5.8L will pull anything.
It uses a Dana 44 IFS front axle and Ford 8.8 rear axle with LSD.
I hope they go ahead with the new Bronco concept truck, I'd be all over that.

First.....the E4OD is in many other full size ford trucks, and it also came behind Broncos with the 5.0 (302ci) engines.
Second.....I have plenty of 96 Broncos with tailgates all rusted to hell.....it is the EXACT same tailgate used for years.
Third......If the Bronco in question has "push button 4X4" with the button on the dash (and no manual shift lever for the t-case...obviously) you CAN shift into 4hi with the truck at a speed up to about 35MPH. I am not sure of the exact limit, but you sure as hell DO NOT have to be stopped to shift into 4hi......to shift into 4lo you will need to already be in 4hi....be stopped (or going under 5MPH) have the truck in P or N.
Even with all this said I always stop then shift into 4X4., but I am ****.
Also......the D44 TTB, and 8.8 rear combo also came on trucks with the 302.
One more thing.....I am still not clear on what you were saying about the manual hubs. I have also long since **** canned the el crappo auto locking hubs in favor of a set of Warm Premiums, but I dont understand what you were talking about with 4lo and boat ramps?????
