So I FINALLY have gotten around to reaming my spring pin bushings and I'm ready to mount the springs back on the frame...BUT it looks like the rear bracket for the front springs is missing some small bushings that sit in the holes in each side of the bracket. Looks like I have 1 of the 4 left. The factory manual shows nothing and Mid-Fifty doesn't have a listing either.
The JobLot catalog doesn't show them in their pic either, but has a listing for "Shackle Bracket Bushing" 53-56 F100-250 part #21C-5344. Might this be them?
I can shoot a pic after my digicam batteries recharge if it will help you figure out just what the heck I'm talking about. I haven't been posting too much lately with work and getting sidetracked on other projects, but I think it's going to be a great summer of Effie building at our house (fingers crossed)
There are a total of six bushings in the front spring mounting system (three on the left and three on the right). Four are the same size and go in the leaf spring eyes. The other two are smaller and go in the swing hanger mounts in the frame, one on each side. These are the mounts closest to the front bumper. These bushings are part number 5344. The rear mounts don't have bushings. I suspect they got wallowed out and a previous owner tried to shim them. I had a bad mount on my truck. I replaced it with a good used one out of a box of parts I got off eBay.
