I have been wanting to buy one for a while now. I decided about 3 months ago to get rid of my Ranger and get a 95-97 F350 PSD. Well I took delivery of yesterday of my 02 F-350 extended cab short box. It has a suspensin lift, and 35" tires. the body is absolutly perfect.
I am now looking to do some mods, like air filter, exhaust, computer. I dont want to go wild because I have a nice fat monthly payment to keep in mind.
I want to thank you guys for the information that I recived when I was looking at buying.
yj_guy, congrats on your purchase. Your truck is about the same thing I bought not long ago, after a lot of dreaming, scheming, and fantasizing. I don't forsee ever going back to a gas burner.
I have been lurking around this site for a while, I joined back in jan. I was driving an 03 ranger and I have a 91 F150. I have found alot of info on the 150 here. I will be selling it soon.
I also was searching on what to look for when purchasing a diesel.
I love the the new truck and I plan on owning it for atleast 8 years. By plan I bought way more truck that I would ever need so I dont have to upgrade in two years. I just ordered the Walker BTM, and I am researching air filters. I plan on upgrading the exhaust in the spring to a stainless MDRP system. At that time I will be installing a computer and gauges
Moding is very addicting so watchout. I have heard there is a 12 step program available in case you get hooked. Of course none of us here are hooked, huh uh no way I can quit whenever I want.
AI and Exhaust is very important and should be your first Mods, There are a couple of others out there that are very low $ like the FPR shim and 10K/5.6K/Clamp Mod.
Before you add the computer (assuming by computer you mean chip or programmer) you should do gauges, at least the EGT gauge, cause a chip or programmer will mess with Exhaust Gas Temp like you wont believe and that can lead to trouble.
