I had my codes read and reset at Autozone today. Unfortunately, tonight the 'service engine soon' light returned, so it wasn't the problem I thought it was.
The codes were P0175 and P0172 which are both right and left banks, system too rich. So how is this resolved? Doesn't the computer control this? I'm not having any problems with the engine. I've had it 5 weeks and this is the first times it's came on. It has 93 k miles on it.
my guess is O2 sensors are bad/dirty and causing lean/rich situation since both banks are bad. Replace O2 sensors. Could also be dirty EGR valve which can be removed and cleaned or replaced.
I received my code reader Friday, which coincided with my weekly 1000 mile trip. While traveling down I-57 in IL, I plugged it in and this time the code was only Bank 2, too rich. I cleared the code and after 600 miles it has not come on. The only thing I did so far was put 2 cans of STP fuel treatment in it right after the code came on the 2nd time.
have seen the problems with the fuel press. reg, peice of trash causing the press. to stay high.screw on a fuel gauge and check it should be above 32 psi
