Y Pipe w converters

Y Pipe w converters

I was told by a mechanic that I need to replace the Y-Pipe and converters on my 1999 F-150, V6 because my existing Y-Pipe is cracked. He gave me a price of 525.00 with labor. Is that normal?

Id say have it welded for $20 and call it good.

No that is not normal, that is insane. Have it welded at an exhaust shop and call it good

I'm with the rest of the group...take it to a shop, have it welded, and call it good. A cracked Y-pipe shouldn't mean replacing of the cat. converters in my mind.
