Timing 300 I6
This for possible use by others. I suspected timing to be out of adj. (1990 300 I-6). My books did not eplain how to set timing. I posted here and Phillip was nice enough to tell me how to set initial timing. Problem was notch on balancer did not relate to signal from No 1 wire. No 3 wire signal was close so I timed to that. Rig ran worse. I suspected distributor was not inserted correctly. Ready to pull distributor but decided to check TDC. TDC did not relate to any marks on balancer. I marked TDC on balancer and timed to that. Rig seems to run great. I assume that previous owner must have removed balancer and installed without key to register balancer to crank.
