GM Axes Astro Van
F.Y.I. for those who might not know, General Motors has annouced the RWD Chevy Astro & GMC ??*&^ (brain lock...what was GMC's version of the Astro van??) will be discontinued after the current model run. This is Ford's golden opportunity, to announced the new and improved Ford Aerostar will be coming in the fall of 2006!! RWD Aerostar (the Aerostar II? Naw, maybe on the Mustang or '74-'78. However, the Aerostar has produced more fame and profit to Ford Motor Company, than the "break-even" Mustang model could ever muster for the blue oval) is back! Me, I will be placing my special order for the Roush-Saleen built, limited edition, performance Aerostar XXLT. This Aerostar will be built to play with the Dodge Viper GTS, Chevy Corvette, and the Porsche Boxster. Spy tests show this Roush-Saleen Aerostar spanking the Porsche Cayenne Turbo SUV, on middle of the night country road testing. How about it!? Ed

It is doubtful that ford will re-introduce the Aerostar or any other RWD/AWD mini-van. (even though it would be nice) The mini-van market has been declining for years with soccer moms moving to the Explorer/Excursion type vehicles.
And then GMC version is called the Safari.
