Brake shimmy

I have a 1995 F-150 Eddie Bauer edition. I was a having a bad shimmy in the steering wheel when applying the brakes. So the rotors and pads were replaced in December 2004. In March 2005, the shimmy returned. I went back to the shop and they replaced the rotors, no charge. Now in June 2005, I have the shimmy again. It seems to happen when applying the brakes when going between 40 and 50 MPH. I have had no hard braking or driven through any deep water. Also the brakes have started pulling to the right. Any ideas?
Thanks,

David

I have a 91 f150 w/ the same problem. Could this be a caliper issue, I think it is just the front brakes?

Try changing the calipers and hoses on the front. What kind of pads did the install? I'd use either the bendix titanium metallic, or a good ceramic pad. These will help the stopping distance, reduce dust, and help with wear. It sounds like they may be using cheap rotors.

Just had the front brakes on my 87 F-150 redone for a similar problem. Started with a shimy when braking and ended up with a caliper locking up. Turns out one of the front brake hoses was going bad and not letting the caliper piston retract. Id check the hoses and the calipers.
