#1 - diesel is .35 cents a gallon more than gas where i live
#2 - $5000 is not all you pay for, then you have to tack on the interest rate
#3 - THAT HORRIBLE SOUND of diesel engine when your in a drive thru and have to turn it off so the lady can hear you order
#4 - Preference!!!!

Talking

I love it when a new diesel cheerleader signs up, slips on a new tu-tu and heads right to the V10 section to tell us how powerful his big, mean diesel pickup is!! Awesome!

Don't tell anybody, but sometimes when I'm feeling really insecure I sneak into the Ford Ranger section and tell those guys how weak their V6s are and how they must be stupid for buying such a small & wimpy truck!! HeHe!

Welcome to the snake pit I am going to take your questions another way, maybe differently than some others might take them. I think you are here because you are looking at an alternative, and you want straight answers. Maybe you have had some trouble with your PSD in the past and are fed up with it and looking for reasurance that the V10 fits the bill. Why else would you be here?

Fuel hog, yes, compared to a Focus. Compared to a 6.0? Not so cut an dry. Pay more for extra fuel economy only to have to pay more for the fuel to begin with? Then potential problems with 6.0 down the road? That's a no-win situation. My truck has done everything I have asked of it. By the time the truck is a year old, less than a month from now, I will have spent nearly $5500 on gasoline for it. If I was going to order a truck tomorrow to replace it, it would be another V10, no question!

They are not theories, they are facts from personal experence. Most of the V10 guys, including myself, have had a diesel, or have had personal experence with one. I got my V10 cause i want a truck i can get in and drive and not have to worry about any sensors, valves, turbos, or any other new electronic things they keep adding to the new diesels.

Why?
One look at your user name tells me. We had a 6.0 at our business, worst engine i have ever delt with. In the shop for a week or more many times. Got rid of it at 100k miles because the turbo was starting to fail. I would bet my truck that a new V10 will out last a 6.0. I have 205,000 and runs perfect. My dad has 260,000, runs perfect. How many 6.0's have that many miles?

My truck has plenty of power, i tow around 15,000lbs every weekend about 500mi through FL. The cost-per-mile is the same or slightly in my advantage b/c diesel is much more than gas here in FL.

I get within 1mpg of any diesel we have owned towing.(7.3,6.0, cummins)

Towandcamp don't forget to add stench to that catagory. My wife asks me everytime a diesel drives by what that smell is. I tell her and she reply's with you order your truck with one of those and i'm walking.

We should start to count how many psd trolls come hear each week. the Deisel forum can start one on how many V10 trolls come there. I bet we beet them 10:1 or about the ratio of ignorant psd owners to V10 owners, I probably shouldn't say things like this as it's like smearing stink on sh$%, but I just cann't help myself some days.
