2004 misfire
The weird thing is that I actually owned 2 of the same motorhome! The first had many problems with the motorhome part, and the manufacturer actually took it back and delivered a new identical coach with much less problems. Both coaches had the exact same misfire problem, except that the first one did it at around 65 MPH!
could this possibly be a normal issue with 2004 F53 V10s?
Any ideas on what the problem could be? Both coaches were brand new with less than 2000 miles on the odometer.
Stick around someone will be by shortly to answer your question.

This is a long shot.. and ironic about your FTE chosen screen name ...but I suspect the steel fuel tank may already be rusting and the fuel pick up (in the tank) and your fuel filter (external) may be clogged.
I have not heard (as CaptChas suggested) that any F53 chassis were speed limited to 75mpg but that does not mean they are not, I just never heard that complaint before.
Back to my thoughts about rust. Rarely do motor coaches sit on the lot with a full fuel tank. Lots of big open exposed areas of metal inside will condense very humid air on the walls over night when the temps drop off. this will rust the insides badly and also cause a LOT of water to accumulate in the bottom of the tank.
It is safe to say that your chassis sat for about a year like this.
I would disconnect the fuel filter, get a length of tubing and pump about a quart of fuel into a clean quart glass jar to see what the raw fuel from the tank looks like. If it has a lot of water and crap in it then you will be armed with knowledge to get warranty fix of the tank and pump pick up screen.
Thankfully the trucks have a plastic fuel cell so we don't have to deal with this grief, unless we get crap pumped into the tank for the station but that is a rant for another day.
Good luck and let us know what it turns out to be.
Welcome to FTE and the V10 forum
For many years now our fuel tanks (fuel cell is a hold over from my aviation background) have been "plastic".
No,I do not know what type plastic but I have opened a few up (fuel pump issues) and appreciate Ford for getting away from the crap steel tanks. I spent way too much time and money with plastic chemical "liners" for old rusty tanks.

I just got the new Motorhome Magazine and there is an article about just this subject. Seems ford put in a 75MPH speed limit on their F53 chassis because of the tire max speed rating! They said it used to be set to 83MPH but the new tires for 2005 required them to lower it to 75MPH! Well, that answers my question.
Thanks again...

Now...what would it be like to know that my SD's limiter was set at 75 MPH? I can't bear to think about it...couldn't force myself to fire it up every morning. Depression would soon set in and I might have suicidal thoughts or some such.

I believe you can set the speed limiter with it...
I've hit the limiter in my '01 ... just trying to get around some traffic - the semi's were climbing up my rear and had to step out into a lot of left-hand-lane traffic - they were MOVING... the beemer in front of me almost lost his nerve when he saw my grill in his rear view mirror...
then he sped up and I hit the limiter
Sort of a good thing, actually... but the guy behind me had to lay on the brakes, which is NOT a good thing...
