Gearing

On a 99 7.3L F250 can I tell what gears i have by looking underneath or looking for some number on the "punkin"?

Yep, take a look at the tag that is held down by 2 of the diff cover bolts. It will have 3 numbers, which will be your ration. If there is an L thrown in the mix, it is an LS rear.
