I have a 84 F100 ,1/2 ton, with a V6 Canadian
motor, it was a fleet truck and have had it for several yrs. Then alternator bracket is broken in 2 places and I need to find one, no place near here(Fayetteville,AR) has one. The bracket has a place for an idler pulley and runs a serpentine belt...
If you have such a part please cntact me by email and I will call,
thanks
Can you weld it? if you have all the pieces and its steel just weld it. take your pieces and where they are broken grind the breaks to a V shape but them together then weld them . this will let you build them back to the original thickness & it will be as strong as a new one , then after you get it built up then grind the outer edges of the weld down so it will be smooth on the outer surface so you can still use the slide part of the bracket. good luck.
