Ordered V10

Ordered an F350 XLT, S/C, LWB, V10, auto about 3 weeks ago. Should be in by mid-July. This site is a great source of info and it helped me a lot in deciding on the truck configuration. I aggravated a lot about the PSD vs V10 but after reading all the posts here, the V10 was the obvious choice for me. This might sound crazy, but I never even test drove a V10, just an F350 with a 5.4 and PSD. I went through all the numbers (mpg, fuel cost differences, maintenance, insurance etc., etc., etc on Excel spreadsheet) and the V10 is less per mile than the PSD. I'll keep you posted on how the truck does but I'm confident it will be good. Thanks for all the help.

Vito, I feel confident you are going to be very happy with your motor choice. I also had to order mine without ever driving one so it is a little bit like a mail order bride.
I feel like I got Catherine Zeta Jones. Good Luck with your 06 SD and let us know when she comes in. On top of the economic benefits of the V10, the fact that you never have to deal with stinky fuel on your hands and shoes, your tank fills up fast, you never have to look for fuel in remote areas, and that annoying diesel clatter is gone. The V10 for me is such a treat. I still pull into a rest area after a hard run and let it idle because of 11 years of trying to save my diesel turbos from damage, then it hits me, its OK to shut it off, it doesn't have a 4000 dollar gizmo to screw up and have to pay for after warranty runs out. That's 2 years of fuel costs for me . I am starting to see that people who can think outside the box and who are not worried about peer pressure are realizing what a bargain the V10 really is. Take care, Wrench.

Bought the same truck except in a C.C. Best thing I ever did. The V10 is awesome. I have never driven a truck that comes close to this. Ford really got it all together with this one.

i'm sure you will love your new truck. alot of us did not have one to test drive when we ordered. but sure are happy for getting a v10. my wife and i both drove a 5.4 could do the job for us but kind of pukie accel. a psd just did not get us going so we blind ordered a v10 and love it. since i have made close friends with my dealerships owner and get a phone call now and then asking can we road test your truck again?
thats no problem for me. as i live 10 mins away and love to show off how a broken in v10 can run.
the thing that gets me is i was always a ford man and got waylaied into a dodge with a 4.7 gasser. this v10 gets better gas mpg's then it did and does not live in the shop.
it's like 415 cubes ver 287 cubes and better mpg's ? kind of bug's me.
