Once again the Corvette teams came away with the class win at the 24 hours, ousting the contenders from Aston Martin and Ferrari. When if ever will Ford or Chrysler bring something to the table that can contend. Speed is not everything in the 24. You've got to finish the race. Is that what's stopping Ford from running the GT? Embarrasment of losing to a 'Vette Maybe? Same thing goes for the Viper. Any views?
Im sure GM is going to start bragging about how great the 'Vette is now. The fact is that GM has thrown a lot of money into that program and now that the factory-backed Vipers are gone, they have no real competition.

Maybe Ford is too busy installing "speedisleeves" in the GT's they are trying to sell.
The Aston Martin is a Ford....
It runs two 3.0 Duratec V6's joined together to make a 6.0l V12.
It may not wear the blue oval on the front, but it is still a Ford.
If I remember correctly, the GT40 waxed the lot -- not the class -- more than once.
Some have called it an outsource, but from what I read, FoMoCo had a lot to do with it.
I still remember 5.7 liter vettes veing classed by the SCCA against 3 liter jags -- and it was a tossup. In Europe -where they ran equivalent displacements-- it was a massacre.
Ford has had their race success over the years -- but, I don't think that it ever really pays the bills. To be fair, GM and MoPar have as well, but they all are governed by
cost vs benefit -- Prestige doen't always make money
Aston Martin was Fords chance this year in Le Mans. I don't think there was a Factory backed Ford in it this year (or any recent years for that matter).
