I want to lift my 95 F150 2wd and found the rough country lift kit, but I want to know will this give me a factory ride or semi close? The kit has new coils and drop brackets for all of the front end except the pitman arm and the rear is lift blocks. My main worry is that it will be incredibly harsh or way too soft. This is my daily driver and I dont want to have it too soft to haul or too hard to ride the highway.
Any new suspension lift is going to ride rough when it is first installed. Once the springs settle the ride is usually better than stock. Better than stock usually means a little stiffer. The spring rate of the new springs is usually higher than the factory springs to compensate for the lift, of course. That was just FYI, i guess LOL
To answer your question, your ride will be stiffer. Sometimes manufacturers will state their ride is as good as stock, but not usually. A lot has to do with shocks. Good shocks will definitely improve a harsh ride.
My plan was to keep the stock rims for a few more years til I see what I want. I know its a truck so I am not expecting a smooth as glass ride, but I also don't want it so stiff it feels like I am riding on the axle tubes with no suspension.
